It was the beginning of spring and
all of the snow was starting to melt. Jason and his friends were on their way
home from school and thought it would be faster to cut through the field. Even
though there were several ‘no trespassing’ signs, they walked through it. They did not realize that the farmer who owned
the field was watching. As they neared the edge and were almost to the sidewalk
they heard a gunshot and a voice screaming, “Get off my lawn!”
As Jason tried to take off running
his shoe got stuck in the mud. He was so scared he took off running and left
his shoe. When he arrived at his house he locked all the doors and closed the
blinds in fear of the crazy farmer. He never went back to get his shoe. The
farmer later found it and gave it to his dog for a chew toy.
