Lost Shoe: Deondre

One day there was an old man hiking in the rocky mountains of Colorado. He was in his fifties, but he looked 35. He was in good shape and exercised regularly. He was Italian and had a broad shoulders and thick, scruffy, black hair with hints of gray forming in it.
The shoes he was wearing were black Nike running shoes. He would have rather had some hiking shoes, but he did not have time to buy them and was on a tight budget. He was hiking to the peak of a mountain close to the town that he lived by.
He started his journey up the mountain trail on the warm summer morning. He was hiking at a good and steady pace, and was about half way, when he stopped to the side of the trail for a 5 minute rest and water break. As he was guzzling his ice-cold water, he heard some tree twigs and branches breaking in the distance behind him. He quickly stood up and turned around on alert. Then that’s when he spotted his worst nightmare. There, only 20 feet ahead of him, stood a 12 foot-tall Kodiak grizzly bear.
After standing there in shock for a good 60 seconds, the man freaked out and did the wrong thing. He made a sudden movement and began running down the trail screaming like a little school girl. When he took off, one of his shoes came off as he ran down the trail. After about 30 seconds of sprinting down the trail with one shoe on, the grizzly bear caught up to him and took him down. Then the man somehow slipped away from the bear’s grip and made it to his car and took off and got away. That’s how the man lost his shoe.
