Survival Poem by Ricky G.

I'll Rise

I have been acquainted with hurt,
But for so long that’s been a little dirt,
And I know I’ll rise.

I have been in broken homes,
Now that’s just my dead bones.

I used to be troubled,
So I knocked it down to old rubble,
Now I know I’ll rise.

I have seen death and new life,
I’m glad for my life,

But that’s my stress as I rise.

Survival Poem by Christian

Overcome
Overcome I will which you may not,
we all have choices right or wrong,
I will learn from my mistakes
as long as I choose to.

When I get down or upset
I think of my motivation,
it pushes me to do right from wrong
motivation is key, you all will see.

There will always be struggles
and things to overcome,
there will be people that will
help you fall, but succeed
I will because I choose to.

So overcome I will and help anyone
do the same, but if you choose to not,

you will be the only person to blame.

Lost Shoe: Leo

The name of the person who lost this shoe is Leo. Leo had the flights 2013 colors blue, black, white. He is white with brown hair brown eyes and he is really tall.
Leo went to go buy the new fresh pair of flights for the party he was going to later. He got all fresh went to the party and of course theirs going to be lots of drugs so Leo went into the room got really, really blown. Couple of hours past and suddenly some goes into the room and seed the chotas here so I had to book it so we get away from the chota and I go and kick it with one of my homies and we get baked and all the sudden their was a knock at the door and of course you can never be to careful about who it is especially when the chota is on you so and I go to see who it is and it’s the chota so I go to book it again and I go to my own house after leading them in the wrong direction and to and pass out. I wake up police at my door so I go out the window and I remember I don’t have my fresh flights so I get arrested and never see my shoes again

Lost Shoe: Deondre

One day there was an old man hiking in the rocky mountains of Colorado. He was in his fifties, but he looked 35. He was in good shape and exercised regularly. He was Italian and had a broad shoulders and thick, scruffy, black hair with hints of gray forming in it.
The shoes he was wearing were black Nike running shoes. He would have rather had some hiking shoes, but he did not have time to buy them and was on a tight budget. He was hiking to the peak of a mountain close to the town that he lived by.
He started his journey up the mountain trail on the warm summer morning. He was hiking at a good and steady pace, and was about half way, when he stopped to the side of the trail for a 5 minute rest and water break. As he was guzzling his ice-cold water, he heard some tree twigs and branches breaking in the distance behind him. He quickly stood up and turned around on alert. Then that’s when he spotted his worst nightmare. There, only 20 feet ahead of him, stood a 12 foot-tall Kodiak grizzly bear.
After standing there in shock for a good 60 seconds, the man freaked out and did the wrong thing. He made a sudden movement and began running down the trail screaming like a little school girl. When he took off, one of his shoes came off as he ran down the trail. After about 30 seconds of sprinting down the trail with one shoe on, the grizzly bear caught up to him and took him down. Then the man somehow slipped away from the bear’s grip and made it to his car and took off and got away. That’s how the man lost his shoe.

Lost Shoe: Zach Snow

My friend Alexis woke up the other day after a long night of partying and went to go put her boots on and one of them ended up not being there!
We looked all over for it… we asked everyone if they had seen it, no one had.
Then she remembered she had it when she was kissing one of the guys last night. Then they went up stairs and they took all there clothes off when they were doing whatever it was they were doing in there. So we went upstairs and they found it underneath a pile of men’s clothes and some strange like square wrappers that were torn in the corner and were empty. They had a little Trojan helmet on them they were funny looking wrappers, when Alexis saw them she blushed and giggled and said “wow it was a good night for me wish I could remember it”.
that was weird but we lifted up the pile and her shoe plopped out of them and fell on the floor with a thud!
“my boot!” Alexis yelled with joy.
She put it on and said okay lets leave I have to go and train an autistic kid how to ride a horse!

Lost Shoe: Kryspin

The date today is January 22’nd 2018.  We are here at the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The crowd is going crazy as we all sit here and wait for the BMX session of the X-Games to start.  Just as everyone thought it was never going to start, all of the riders rode their bikes out through the curtains and up on to the mega ramp!  As they were all introducing themselves over the microphone, one of the many rider’s names caught my attention.  His name was Kyle Baldock, I looked up and asked myself “could it be him?”  It was him!  My long lost cousin I haven’t talked to for a couple years, and I end up seeing him in the X-Games.  Im not gonna lie, its been one of my dreams since I was ten years old to ride my bike in front of a bunch of people for the Dew Tour  or the X-Games, so I was a little bit jealous!  But I was mostly excited to see him, he is one of my hero’s, along with kid ink!!!  Anyways I sat and waited for it to finally be Kyle’s turn, it seemed like it was taking forever!  His turn finally came after like 20 minutes of waiting.  I was so excited that I could barely stay in my seat!  As he dropped into the first quarter pipe to start his run, I could see the fire in his eyes.  I knew that he was planning something big, but what could it be, I wondered?  I decided that I was thinking about it too much, so I stopped.  And then it happened!  He hit the box jump and pulled a dipped three whip over it, aired out of the quarter pipe, and started riding for the box jump again.  I think he was about to pull his finale, I could just see it in his eyes, and he was almost out of time.  As he went up the box jump, everything seemed as if it was going in slow motion.  I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, he attempted a double frontflip cliffhanger.  At that moment the whole arena went silent.  Baldock was down on the ground, not moving…  I got up and ran down to where he was laying, followed by the medical crew making me back off, they wouldn’t let me see him.  I was very worried as the ambulance drove off.  I looked over and saw my cousins shoe laying over by the box jump, so I went over, grabbed it, and set off for the hospital…
